Former President Asif Ali Zardari has been making headlines because of his recent comments with regards to the decisions taken by Pakistan People’s Party and their stance vis-a-vis the opposition parties’ alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement. As you might know, recently PPP ended up ditching the PDM by declaring that the PPP party members will not resign from the Parliament till the time Nawaz Sharif returns to Pakistan. This ‘move’ by President Zardari was immensely enjoyed by Pakistanis as a shrewd political move.
You might have come across this former President Zardari meme after his comments about the PDM and Nawaz Sharif
This the latest meme that Pakistani social media is obsessing over.
Pakistanis have turned former President Zardari into a meme for his PDM diss by using an old dialogue of his, “aisa dil rakhtay hee nahi hain jo tootay ga“
Basically, this Zardari meme has come after his PDM remarks but the original dialogue is taken from a three-year-old interview
In his recent remarks, Asif Ali Zardari basically mentioned that since PPP, his party, is a political body so they want to fight the war for democracy while staying in the Parliament, as opposed to how the PDM wants to go about it by resigning as elected representatives. He further dragged the leaders of PML-N, specifically former PM Nawaz Sharif, saying they will resign when he comes back to Pakistan.
Of course, many took these comments by Mr. Zardari as proof of his political acumen and just used this opportunity to highlight how Zardari ‘broke the hearts’ of the PML-N people and ended up reminding them of his famous dialogue from this interview.
During the interview back in 2018 which was the last election year for Pakistan, on the famous political interview show Jirga, the host – Saleem Safi – asks Zardari sahab whose demeanor broke his heart the most and President Zardari replied, “aisa dil rakhtay hee nahi jo tootay ga…sivaye Bibi ki shahaadat ke dil koi nahi tor sakta“.
Pakistanis are having the time of their lives with the Zardari meme on his PDM comments by applying the dialogue to all aspects of their lives
They talked about how funny the situation had become after Zardari left the PDM movement in the middle of their struggle.
People are coming up with their own hilarious versions of dil tootay na dialogues
